About the Sumatran Puddle Frog

The Sumatran puddle frog (Occidozyga sumatrana) belongs to the Dicroglossidae family. Confirmed records place it on Sumatra, Java, Sipora, and Simeulue islands, and a recent sighting was reported from Singapore on August 23, 2018. Its known distribution is therefore poorly known but may be wider, perhaps from India through Malaysia to southern China. For years it was mistaken for its close relative Occidozyga laevis and was even treated as a junior synonym.
