• A white-naped squirrel's tail is longer than its entire body—sometimes stretching 35 centimetres when the animal itself weighs just 400 to 600 grams. That oversized rudder isn't decorative: it shifts air pressure as the squirrel launches between branches up to 5 metres apart, turning a fall into a controlled glide. • Unlike most squirrels, white-naped squirrels are almost entirely arboreal—they rarely touch the ground in their lifetime.
