• A wild horse can survive on half the water a human needs and still outrun most predators over 100 kilometres. Their kidneys concentrate urine to near-syrup thickness, a desert-survival hack that lets them go days between water sources. • Wild horses sleep standing up for 3 hours a day, never lying down for more than 15 minutes at a time.
