• The single-striped grass mouse occupies a broad belt of southern Africa, ranging from Angola in the north through Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe down to South Africa. It thrives in both natural moist savanna and in human-altered arable land, exploiting the resources each provides.
