About the Side-striped Chameleon

The side-striped chameleon (Trioceros bitaeniatus) has two parallel dark stripes along its back, giving it the common name two-lined chameleon. In the timberline forests of Mount Kenya, Kilimanjaro, and the Aberdare Range, it perches 1 to 2 m above ground on Hagenia and Hypericum scrub that dominate the 3,000-4,000 m zone. It is strictly diurnal and shelters at night in dense bushes.
