Round-tongued Floating Frog

Fascinating facts about the Round-tongued Floating Frog

• The round-tongued floating frog lives in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and southern China’s provinces of Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan, and possibly Myanmar.
• The frog thrives in a surprising mix of water bodies: permanent rivers and ponds, but also seasonal streams, swamps, and even man-made canals and ditches. This flexibility lets it survive where water appears only part of the year.
• The species may also include the little-known Occidozyga magnapustulosus, which is found in scattered spots of northern Thailand and Laos.
