About the Rose's Rain Frog

Rose's rain frog (Breviceps rosei) is a frog of the Brevicipitidae family that lives a subterranean life, carving shallow nests beneath the sand where it deposits its eggs. It does not venture into water and surfaces during heavy rain. Tadpoles develop inside the eggs and hatch as fully formed froglets. The species occurs in temperate shrubland, Fynbos Mediterranean shrubland, sandy shores, arable land, pastureland, rural gardens, and urban areas.
