Fascinating facts about the Marbled Tropical Bullfrog

From dusk until the first light of dawn, a low, throaty rumble echoes through the leaf litter, marking the nightly patrol of this bullfrog’s territory.
When night falls, it swaps its stillness for a snack list that includes isopods, ants and insect larvae, turning the forest floor into an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Living from sea level up to 1,200 m (about 3,937 ft), it spans the full height of Brazil’s subtropical lowland and montane forests, proving amphibians can thrive across a surprising altitude range.
Found only in the southern Brazilian states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Paraná, its limited map highlights how a single region can cradle an entire species’ future.
