• These rock-hopping antelopes can live almost as high as the summit of a skyscraper, inhabiting elevations up to 4,500 m (15,000 ft) on Mount Kilimanjaro and 4,000 m in other ranges. In the lush Simien Mountains they pack in at 10-14 individuals per square kilometre, yet across most of their range the density drops to a whisper-thin 0.01-0.1 per km².
• A klipspringer's menu is a gourmet buffet of fresh shoots, fruits and flowers, about two-thirds of its diet, and it can sip water straight from the dew on leaves. It can stand on its hind legs to pluck foliage up to 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) high, and some Namibian individuals have been seen scaling trees as tall as 5.4 m (17 ft 9 in). By relying on succulent plants and rain-kissed foliage rather than rivers, it thrives where water holes are scarce, carving a niche in arid, rocky landscapes.

• A klipspringer reaches 43-60 cm at the shoulder and weighs 8-18 kg. Its male horns are tiny spikes, usually 7.5-9 cm long, but the record reaches 15.9 cm, and some measurements even note a 16.2 cm extreme.
• Klipspringers, forming lifelong monogamous bonds, usually no more than 5 m (16 ft) apart. Studies recorded a median pair distance of just 2 m, and the pair's constant proximity lets them take turns watching for predators while the other feeds.
