Yes — Feravox is free to download and use. A Premium subscription unlocks deeper facts, all game modes, and the full animal archive. You can try Premium free for 7 days.
Over 4,000 species and growing. We add new animals regularly, with a focus on species that are interesting, unusual, or have important conservation stories worth sharing.
Every species profile in Feravox is built from a mix of trusted, open scientific sources:
Wikipedia & Wikimedia Commons — natural history, taxonomy, and every animal photo (each shown with its photographer credit and Creative Commons licence).
iNaturalist — taxonomy and the "wildlife near me" location feed of real observations.
IUCN Red List — conservation status (LC, NT, VU, EN, CR, EW, EX) shown on every card.
Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) — species facts and life-history data.
Macaulay Library & other public bioacoustic archives — every animal sound is a real field recording, not a recreation.
Facts are then written by our editorial team and verified against the sources above. If you spot something wrong, tap the flag on any card or contact us — we re-check every report.
All sounds are real field recordings sourced from the Macaulay Library and other public wildlife sound archives. You hear the actual call of the animal — not a recreation. Each sound carries its recordist credit.

A home-screen widget (iOS and Android) that shows a new animal every day — its photo, a key fact, and its conservation status. Tap it to open the full profile in the app.
Yes! Use the contact form and include the species name. We love hearing suggestions, especially for lesser-known species that deserve more attention.
Yes — Feravox automatically switches to French when your device language is set to French. Animal names, facts, and the interface are all translated.
For creators
Feravox features wildlife photographers and videographers directly inside the app — your photos appear on the species cards you've shot, alongside your name, bio, location and Instagram. We're always looking for photographers with real field work to share.
Apply at feravox.app/creator/submit. Tell us who you are, what you shoot, and link a few examples (Instagram, your portfolio, or a few photos). Reviews usually take a few days.
We focus on people who shoot wild animals in real conditions — no captive or zoo work as a portfolio centrepiece, no AI-generated images, and species correctly identified. Mobile, drone, DSLR, mirrorless — gear doesn't matter, the work and the species ID do.
Right now Feravox is a small, independent product and creator features are unpaid — but every photo carries your credit and links straight to your Instagram, putting your work in front of an audience that cares about wildlife. As we grow we plan to share revenue with creators; you'll be the first to hear.
