• A honey badger's skin is so thick and loose it can rotate inside its own pelt — when a predator grabs it by the back, the badger twists around and bites the attacker's face. Combined with skin that's virtually impervious to bee stings, snake fangs, and porcupine quills, this 12-kilogramme animal has survived encounters with lions, hyenas, and black mambas that would kill animals ten times its size.
