The story behind
Feravox

Built by one person, for everyone who still wonders.

I'm Sacha. I built Feravox because I kept finding myself amazed by random animal facts — the kind that make you put your phone down and just sit with the thought for a moment. A mantis shrimp sees 16 colours. Elephants mourn their dead. There are fish that sing.

The problem was finding those facts. Wildlife documentaries are an hour long. Wikipedia is a wall of text. Instagram gives you a beautiful photo with no context. Nothing gave me that quick, daily hit of genuine wonder about the natural world.

So I built it. Feravox is the app I wished existed — a daily feed of real wildlife facts, conservation stories, and animal sounds, designed to be beautiful and quick enough to fit into your actual life.

What the name means

Fera is Latin for "wild animal." Vox means "voice." Feravox is literally the voice of the wild — a way for the natural world to speak to you, even when you're far from it.

What it's built on

Every animal in Feravox is real. Facts come from scientific sources and are reviewed for accuracy. Images are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under free licences. Conservation statuses are pulled from the IUCN Red List. The sounds are real field recordings.

The app is available on iOS, Android, and the web. There's a free tier and a premium subscription that unlocks deeper facts, games, and the full archive.

A word on conservation

A third of all wildlife species are currently threatened with extinction. Most people have no idea. Feravox doesn't ask you to donate or sign a petition — it just shows you the animals, tells you the truth about their situation, and trusts that knowing is enough to change how you see the world.

If you have a question, an idea, or just want to say hello — I'd love to hear from you.
