• A Gaboon viper's fangs can grow up to 2 inches long — longer than a grizzly bear's claws — and they inject venom so potent that a single bite carries enough toxin to kill 15 adult humans. Yet this snake moves so slowly that a mouse could outrun it; the Gaboon viper hunts by patience, waiting motionless for weeks until prey walks directly onto its head.
